Each year, parents and carers are asked to provide the necessary class materials and resources for their child’s education. The below contains important information about the requirements and options that are available for families to purchase or provide these, to ensure your student is equipped to commence school in 2026.
For 2026, class requirements are separated into two lists, provided through:
Book Lists (under booklists) - Book lists for each year level include classroom requirements for the individual student, to be provided by parents/carers on the first day of the new school year. These items can be sourced individually by parents or purchased through our P&C as a convenient boxed pack or a smaller pack option.
2.Student Resource Scheme (SRS) – Freshwater State School operates a Student Resource Scheme in addition to the book list for each year level. The SRS is provided to parents/carers as a cost-effective alternative to purchasing additional educational requirements that have been identified by teaching staff to enhance teaching and learning, which are not funded by the government and not included in the book lists. Items such as textbook hire, subject and art consumables and online resources/subscriptions are included in the scheme, at a fee to parents/carers andinvoiced by the school. The scheme is designed to reduce the costs to parents/carers and eliminates the need tosource these resources themselves. Participation in the SRS is optional. Families are under no obligation to join. Student resources provided under this scheme are not funded by school grants, therefore, if you do not wish to join the scheme you will be responsible for providing your child with the items that would have otherwise been provided by the scheme.
The Student Resource will be invoiced early in Term 1.
Indicative 2026 Costs for each year level below:
| Instrumental Music (Strings or Brass Woodwind) | $100 | $100 |

Other student expenses for the year are based on a user pays system, invoiced during the year. This includes, incursions, excursions, school camps, Year 4-6 interschool sport and special events participation. Our P&C generously supplements many excursions throughout the school year, reducing out of pocket costs to families.
